St Mary's Church, Nantwich, Cheshire.

Description

Built in the 13th century, St Mary's is considered to be one of the finest churches in Cheshire. It was used as a temporary prison for Royalist soldiers in the English Civil War. Building started in 1280 and was completed in 1390. The building is cruciform in shape and has an octagonal tower. It was restored in the 19th century.
